Lorenzo Paonni

Software Engineer at INAF — Osservatorio Astronomico di Roma, Laser Guide Star & Adaptive Optics research group. CS student at Sapienza University of Rome.

about.md

I write software that helps point lasers at the sky — on purpose. At INAF-OAR I work on systems for Laser Guide Star and Adaptive Optics research: the tech that lets ground-based telescopes cancel out atmospheric turbulence and see the universe sharply.

Python is my daily driver for development and scripting, but I'm comfortable moving down the stack to C/C++ when performance matters, or up to the web when something needs a face. Two years in, still hungry.
